Welcome to the
MegaPsych Bookstore
This page features books that are of interest to psychologists and that
focus on the Internet, with special focus on teaching on the Internet. If
you
know of other books that should be listed, let me know. In any
case, if I can
help you find a book that you want I'll have met the public service
purpose
of MegaPsych.
Among the outstanding books to which I would like to draw attention:
Psych Online '97,
by Patricia Wallace. The
outstanding print source of
current psychology resources on the Internet. This jewel will
be updated each
year. Faculty, contact your Brown & Benchmark rep for a
review or desk copy.
The Online
Classroom, by Eileen Cotton. For K-12 educators,
this book
covers how to use the tools of the Internet and links to major resources
for both
teachers and youngsters. Available directly from the author,
or from Amazon .com.
Using the INTERNET
for Social Science Research and Practice, by
Edward P. Kardas and Tommy M. Milford. The only such book that I
am
aware of. I've used this one in my Internet Research course at Tulsa
Community
College since it was published. It covers the basics of using
the tools of the
Internet, and provides hundreds of links to sites that can be useful in
researching
social science topics via the Internet. Psychology, sociology, political
science,
and anthropology are among the social sciences covered. Purchase
of the text
also allows free access to databases that could otherwise cost the user
hundreds
of dollars.
