      Pitfalls of Data Analysis — A fairly long hypertext document, but it covers common problems encountered in analyzing data.  Lots of good tips. 
      Psychological Research - Statisical Applets — This site, related to Vadum & Rankin's textbook, Psychological Research: Methods for Discovery and Validation includes programs, written in Java that can be used online for randomly assigning subjects to groups, random sampling, and doing basic statistical calculations.
      Selecting Statistics — Not sure which statistical test to use?  Try Bill Trochim's online statistical advisor!  Answer the questions and it will lead you to an appropriate statistical test for your data. 
      SPSS - Instructions and Examples — Instructions for the beginner. 
      Statistical Concepts for the Behavioral Sciences
      Statistical Assessment Service — The Statistical Assessment Service has taken on the job of looking "at the way that statistical and quantitative information and research are presented by the media, and works with journalists to help them convey this material more accurately and effectively."  STATS maintains an archive of the Vital STATS newsletter, running back to April, 1997, that includes many interesting articles.  STATS Spotlight offers some serious articles.  The Dubious Data Awards for 1995, 1996 and 1997, and the Fishiest Facts of 1996 offer hours of hilarious reading about the misuse of statistics.
